Millbank Prison was a prison in Westminster, London, England.

History[edit | edit source]

In 1861, the Assassin Simeon Price was brought to Millbank Prison after being arrested for the crime of desertion. After his leg was set, Price was looking for an opportunity to escape. However, an alive Corporal Sawyer Halford arrived and offered to help him escape conviction due to a loophole in his military service. Talking with each other, Halford agreed to help him send out a message outside the prison.[1]

At the end of the year, Simeon received word that his apprentice. Pierrette Arnaud, had gone to Dublin but remained skeptical about her rushed letter. In 1862, he was taken from the prison to the Horse Guards for his trial of desertion.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Historically, Millbank Prison opened in 1806 and permanently closed in 1890.[3]
