Mercenary Gloves

The Mercenary Gloves were a type of gloves mainly worn by mercenaries in ancient Greece during the 5th century BCE. Practical, the right glove was etched with the image of an eagle catching a snake, flanked by two other snakes, while the left was made of metal.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra found these gloves in the inventories of blacksmiths and looted it from bodies and chests during her travels throughout Greece.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The Mercenary Gloves, a piece of armor in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, is part of the iconic outfit worn by the Eagle Bearer in the promotional material. The model of the Mercenary Gloves is also used for multiple other gloves of different names in the same game, one example being Perdix's Gauntlets.
