Meng Xianshi

Meng Xianshi (孟宪实; born 1962) is a Chinese historian and an associate professor at Renmin University of China. He specializes in researching the Sui and Tang dynasties of imperial China.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Early life[edit | edit source]

Meng Xianshi was born in 1962 in Nehe. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1983 from Nankai University and in 2001 obtained his PhD from Peking University.[1]

Assassin's Creed[edit | edit source]

In 2018, Xianshi acted as a historical consultant on the then-upcoming manhua Assassin's Creed: Dynasty that was being set during the Tang dynasty. He worked closely with the creative team, and writers Xu Xianzhe and Zhang Xiao to ensure their work looked historically accurate.[2] The manhua started serialization in August 2020.[3]
