Matilda at the Dorobernia Theater

Matilda was a "talking" pig who was claimed to be a seer and was found at Dorobernia Theater, Cent, during the 9th century.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Matilda found herself as a form of entertainment after an Anglo-Saxon man bought her from the market. She was soon visited by Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, who was confused on seeing a man talking to the seemingly-unresponsive pig. After questioning Matilda's owner, Eivor drank a nearby psychoactive brew and spoke to the pig. Matilda "introduced" herself as a seer and asked the "Raven" if she wanted to know the prophecies she had. After Eivor drank some more brew, Matilda told her different prophecies which bewildered the Viking, who left believing the brew was the cause of Matilda's divinations.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Regardless whether Matilda was truly a seer trapped in a pig's body or the brew's effects as Eivor believed, the twenty prophecies shared range from references to the future, like William Shakespeare's works and the Industrial Revolution, to foreshadowing then-contemporary events, such as Alfred's influence on England.
