Lismore Abbey (Runic: ᛒᚱᚢᚦᚱᛅᚴᛅᚱᚦᛣ ᛅᛏ ᛚᛁᛋᛘᚢᚱ) was a former monastery located on the Inishowen peninsula in the north of Ireland, located within the Kingdom of Ulster during the Medieval period.
Between 879 and 882, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir led a raid on the monastery, looting the site of its cargo and valuables.[1]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Historically, the actual Lismore Abbey is located in County Waterford, way below in the south of Ireland.
