Kalda

Kalda was a Viking woman and the partner of Gapi.

Biography

Though her father forbade her from swordplay and raids, Kalda's skills either matched or surpassed the men in her clan. Aware of this, her beloved Gapi invited her aboard his ship. Her controlling father forbade her from leaving and insulted her, but Kalda ignored him and left. For a full spring, the couple sailed and raided the coast of Francia, taking much silver and riches until a passing ship gave Kalda news of her mother's death, prompting their return home. Grief stricken, Kalda was confused to find her mother there, alive and standing quietly beside her father, until her father explained it was a ploy to keep her there. Kalda was enraged and slew her father before once again sailing away.
