The Journal de Paris was the first French daily newspaper[1] and one of many published during the French Revolution.[2] Poet André Chénier was one of the contributors of the newspaper.[3]
The Journal de Paris ran many stories on the politics of France at the time, though unlike Le Patriote, it also had space for some levity, for example publishing news on a cult and on fashion in the same issue it announced the sentencing of Louis XVI of France and the rebellion at Vendée.[4] They also ran stories on the arts[5] and sciences.[6]
Parisian Assassin Arno Dorian was a reader of the newspaper.[7]
