Jasper Lasalle was an enemy of Jean-Paul Marat during the French Revolution.

Marat accused Lasalle's father of being a traitor in a newspaper article, and the latter was killed, causing Lasalle to harbor a deep hatred for the politician. When Marat was assassinated, Lasalle became a suspect and was imprisoned at St. Germain. On being questioned by the French Assassin Arno Dorian, he claimed to have killed Marat to avenge his father, but this was later proven untrue.
