Jarnshus

Jarnshus (Runic: ᚢᛅᚱᚾᛋᚼᚢᛋ) was a prison in southwestern Vangrinn, Svartálfaheimr. During the Muspel invasion of the realm, Muspel and jötnar warriors used the prison to hold and torture their dwarven captives.
History[edit | edit source]
In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time in Svartalfheim, the Æsir lord Havi traveled to the prison following a clue to Hodda Shelter's shelter chief Sindri's whereabouts. During his investigation, he found a lava pit filled with cages, lava, and a burnt body. Upon further inspection, he determined that the body belonged to Sindri, that, from the cauterizing mark, his hugr must have been stolen with the use of the Salakar, and that he must have been Calder's first victim. Using his Hugr-Rip, Havi activated the "Power of Muspelheim," grabbed Sindri's corpse, and left the prison to bring Sindri's body back to his brother Brokkr.[1]
Apart from Sindri's body, Havi had also found an uncut gemstone inside a locked structure. Additionally, he slew a jötunn warrior and claimed a platinum ingot from their personal effects. He acquired another platinum ingot from another chest when he activated the "Power of Jötunheimr" and teleported to a different locked structure with a world knot.[2]
