Gullinbursti Smida

Gullinbursti Smida (Runic: ᚴᚢᛚᛁᚾᛒᚢᚱᛋᛏᛁ ᛋᛘᛁᛏᛅ) was the dwarven forge in southeastern Vangrinn, Svartálfaheimr where Odin's war boar Gullinbursti was created.

History[edit | edit source]

In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time in Svartalfheim, the Æsir lord discovered the forge underneath four dwarven statues and remembered the time Loki pulled the dwarven brothers and blacksmiths Brokkr and Sindri into a bet he had made with Odin that they could create gifts greater than Gungnir, Skíðblaðnir, and Sif's hair by Ivaldi's sons. Despite Loki's transformation into a fly to distract Brokkr, the brothers created Gullinbursti, a war boar made of living metal.[1]
