Guilhem Lemarié (died c. 1794) was a French jeweller in the city of Saint-Denis.
Around 1794, Guilhem embarked on a search for the Rose Scepter which had been held by the former Queens of France—the last being Marie de' Medici—before it disappeared. Believing it to be buried with the former queen's tomb in the Basilica of Saint-Denis's royal crypt, he created a prototype for a key to unlock the queen's sarcophagus.[1]
Before he could use the key, made in the image of a sculpted human bone, Guilhem was captured by a band of raiders who sought the Rose Scepter as well. The raiders held him in a cage in the catacombs beneath the city, where he was later killed. Eventually, Guilhem's body was found by the French Assassin Arno Dorian, who slaughtered the raiders and recovered the key from his body, allowing him to claim the Rose Scepter from the raiders.[1]
