Laios' grave

The Grave of Laios was a grave located on the eastern foothills of the Grand Mount Parnassos in Phokis, Greece.

History

The grave, adorned with a statue of a hound, marked the location where, while on his way to see the Oracle at the Sanctuary of Delphi, King Laios of Thebes was slain by his son Oedipous and subsequently buried.

During the Peloponnesian War, the tomb was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.
