François-Xavier Garneau (15 June 1809 – 2 or 3 February 1866) was a 19th-century French Canadian historian from Quebec.
Garneau was an ancestor of Olivier Garneau, the Chief Creative Officer of Abstergo Entertainment in Montreal; Olivier disclosed his ancestry to his colleagues in an email on 6 November 2013 when discussing whose genetic memories to explore for the setting of the company's next video game.[1]
