The Fisherman' Beacon

The Fisherman's Beacon was a lighthouse in Octopus Bay in Messara, Greece. Situated near the city of Heraklion, it marked a spit preventing fishermen from hitting land during the night.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place.
