It was acquired by the 18th century Assassin Aveline de Grandpré after she purchased ten specialty pocket watches from smugglers in Louisiana.

The Dueling Pistol is a reward in Assassin's Creed III: Liberation for collecting all pocket watches, which are purchased from smugglers.
