The Duc de Barrois (died 1790s) was a French nobleman who lived during the French Revolution in the Marais district.

An influential duke, de Barrois used his power to send many of his enemies and rivals to the guillotine and then take their properties and goods for himself. His corrupt deeds were noted by the Parisian Assassins after the Assassin Arno Dorian renovated the Café du Marais. They sent Arno to eliminate de Barrois, who was hosting a theatrical performance in the Hôtel de Sully.[1] With de Barrois dead, the corruption in the area declined, though the decreasing number of extremists gave rise to more vigilantes in their place.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

This individual is assumedly from Barrois, a county in eastern France. However, since it was county, originally under the Duchy of Bar and later Duchy of Lorraine, he should have been a count, not a duke.
