Philosophical Pioneer

Sokrates was born in Alopece to a stoneworker and a midwife. As his family was well off, he was free from financial concerns and could instead focus on his education. Sokrates received extra lessons in his youth and grew up to be exceptionally gifted in the realm of philosophy.

Sokrates spread his wisdom as much as he could, educating many and becoming the teacher of other famous figures such as Plato and Alkibiades. As Sokrates became part of Perikles' inner circle, he had no shortage of intellectual individuals with whom to debate and discuss his ideas.

Considered by many to be one of the founders of Western philosophy, Sokrates added much to the field during his time. He was famous for having created the Socratic method, a form of dialogue in which Sokrates would seek answers to questions to draw out underlying presuppositions in one's beliefs, much to the chagrin of Kassandra and other Athenians.
