Database: Ming Dynasty Muskets

The first muzzle-loaded matchlock weapons in China may have been inspired from Portuguese culverins. The first hand-cannons were possibly Chinese, made in the 13th century, but under the Ming dynasty, European firearms became favored in China, due to the fast development of technologies in the West.
