Matsu is an elder of Iga who, in her youth, lived a vibrant life as a shinobi. As she aged and her body began to find its limitations, Matsu's actions mellowed. Instead, she became every Igan's auntie in body and soul—especially for Naoe.

Despite her age, hints of the skilled shinobi underneath her wrinkled skin can be seen when she chops vegetables for her stew. Matsu is a warrior-peasant through-and-through.
