Database: Jock MacRae
Exceptional Tracker
The son of a Scottish sharecropper turned landowner and a bold-mannered freed-woman; Jock grew up on the Massachusetts frontier. His parents were a happy couple, both of them tough and capable, and they imparted a wealth of knowledge to their son. What they could not teach him, he learned from nearby Mohawk peoples.
Jock grew up to be a peerless frontiersman, and though he faced some discrimination from other colonists due to his ethnicity, his expertise in the wilderness was always welcome. He hunted and fished and worked as a guide and trapper to make a living. He lived for a time with his Mohawk friends, and was recognized even by them as an exceptional hunter and tracker.
Jock generally lived a life of ease, but was far from blind to the injustices around him. He saw the excesses of the colonial powers, and the atrocities perpetrated against the native peoples who were his friends.
It was thus an easy thing to pull him into the ranks of the Brotherhood. While a kind-hearted man by nature, Jock had a strong sense of justice, and took to the work of the Assassins conscientiously. The Templars, who he saw as the architects of all injustice, held a special place of vitriol in his heart.
