The grey heron is a master of both speed and stealth. When hunting, they stand still in bodies of water for a long time: enough for surrounding wildlife to resume normal activity. The heron then lashes out with its long, dagger-like bill at lightning speed, snapping up nearby fish. These large birds are often seen hunting around sunrise and sunset.
