While awaiting her brother's return from his mission to assassinate the Templar Juan Borgia the Elder, Claudia Auditore was attacked by Borgia guards at the Rosa in Fiore. Her attackers had tailed a group of courtesans back to the brothel after they had stolen a chest of money from Juan's celebration.

Ezio returned to find a group of women weeping outside the bordello and he feared the worst. Instead, he entered the building only to see the floor littered with the bodies of Borgia soldiers. Her sister Claudia stood tall among them, with blood stained stiletto in hand, proving to her once skeptical brother that she was a true Auditore.
