Uda Matsuyama Castle

Uda Matsuyama Castle was a castle[1] situated in Uda Matsuyama in Yamato, Japan.[2] Its ruins have been designated as a protected National Historic Site since 2006.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke infiltrated the castle after being informed by one of Tsutsui Junkei's envoys that rogue Akiyama soldiers stole her invitation to the peace talks. Stealthily, they found the invitation within one of the residences and recovered it for Akiyama Ayako.[3]
While there, Naoe and Yasuke also discovered the conspirator within the Akiyama clan, assassinated him, and recovered a letter from The Messenger and the teppō Repeating Fate from his personal effects.[4] At some point, Yasuke returned and discovered the Akiyama clan's kamon crest within the tenshu.[5] Then, he and Naoe eliminated four samurai daisho, acquired the Legendary Onna-musha Kosode from the castle's treasure chest, and climbed atop the tenshu to survey the province.[2]
