Chertsey Abbey Ruins

The Chertsey Abbey Ruins was an abbey in what is now Surrey, England. During the Anglo-Saxon period, it was part of the county of Suthsexe, part of the Kingdom of Wessex.

In the 870s, the abbey, left in ruins, was visited and explored by the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, who recoved a Book of Knowledge within one of the buildings. Eivor also solved a treasure hoard she had discovered in the Monk's Lair east of the Calleva Outpost, recovering a scheme for her settlement by a large tree in the abbey.[1]
