"They rounded up suspects and took them to the St. Germain Prison by the Gendarme. They're lucky if they survive the trip."

Arno Dorian questioning Chantelle Naves

Chantelle Naves was a woman living in Paris during the French Revolution.

After the assassination of Jean-Paul Marat, she saw the Gendarme take the suspects away. Afterwards, she stood outside his house, among other people, like Jacqueline Perel and Madeline Leclair.[1]

When the Parisian Assassin Arno Dorian investigated the death of Marat, he questioned Naves on the street. Naves replied that the suspects were all arrested and taken to the St. Germain Prison. It's a solid clue for Dorian, and he went to investigate the prison.[1]
