Why does this exist when there's a Greek category? Byzantine is a Greek subculture, effectively, and not really an ethnic label either, since the concept of nationality didn't really exist when the Byzantine Empire did. Greek or Roman suffices for that purpose. Which means the only other logical reason this category could exist is to denote affiliation to the Byzantine Empire, or their Templar successors in ACR. If so, why are some Byzantines not marked as Greek? Makao the Byzantine {T/\L|<} 16:07, October 26, 2013 (UTC)

Because the Byzantine Empire stretched further than Greece. Not every Byzantine was born in Greece. Do you propose to have every Byzantine under the Greek category then? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 16:12, October 26, 2013 (UTC)
Well, given that every Byzantine that has an article on this wiki was Greek in ethnic terms, yes, I think it would make sense. Makao the Byzantine {T/\L|<} 16:15, October 26, 2013 (UTC)
I intended those categories to be for nationality, however, not ethnic terms. Given that we do not know where most of them were born, would the abscene of any nationality category not be more appropriate? I'm open to adjusting them to ethnic terms as well - but then that will be done for all characters, not just Byzantines. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 16:22, October 26, 2013 (UTC)
