Captain's Chest

The Captain's Chest was a chest armor which was inherited and used by the Greek pirate Gotarzes after the passing of his father.
During the Peloponnesian War, the breastplate ended up in the hands of the Spartan misthios Kassandra after she rescued Gotarzes from a self-inflicted marooning on the island of Lestris around 429 BCE. Though loathe to part from the armor, Gotarzes' sister, the pirate admiral Xenia, commanded him to give Kassandra the armor as a reward for his rescue.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The Captain's Chest, a piece of armor in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares its model with one of the variants of the Athenian Breastplate. The rarity of this item is dependent on the choice of the player: the lower Rare-grade version is received if a reward is insisted on, while the higher Epic-grade version is received if the player chooses that a reward is "not necessary". The Epic gear provides a bonus to maximum health, in addition to the two perks available on the Rare-grade.
