"The pettiest thing someone can do, if you ask me. You have to have one ugly personality to do that, you do."
―Brutus' thoughts on spilling one's drink.[src]-[m]

Brutus was an English thug and member of the Blighters during the mid-19th century.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 1868, Brutus won a poker game against Cornelius Toti-Button, causing the latter to hold a vendetta against the Blighter. The following night, while drinking at a pub, Brutus was questioned by the British Assassin Jacob Frye, who believed that the Blighter might have spilled Cornelius' drink because of their rivalry. Brutus denied the allegations, claiming that one needed to have an "ugly personality" to commit such an act. Eventually, Jacob discovered that an inebriated Cornelius had accidentally spilled his own drink.[1]

As Jacob and Cornelius left the pub, Brutus and a few other Blighters confronted them and, recognizing the Assassin, challenged him to a fistfight. Jacob won the brawl, knocking out Brutus and his companions, and left to take Cornelius home.[1]
