Briton Shield

The Briton Shield was a type of light shield used by Britonnic warriors in England during the 9th century. This particular shield was lost in a game of dice by a soldier stationed west of Offa's Dyke who died before he could win it back. In time, the shield was hidden and stored in a chest beneath the Temple of Mithras in Lunden.

In 873, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir acquired the shield while investigating the temple ruins for clues regarding the Order of the Ancients.[1]
