But Arno is an ancestor to Desmond. It is confirmed by Melanie Lemay in one of her conversations with Alvaro Gramatica - the ones acquired through freeing Assassins from server bridges. I no longer have the saves, but I remember that Lemay said that when they were researching Desmond's ancestral line they found an ancestor named Arno Dorian, who may have encountered a Sage during his life. (Sorry for any language mistakes, I'm Polish ;)
