It's been announced in a GameInformer interview that Corey May has left Ubisoft to work for Certain Affinity. May said of the state of Assassin's Creed:

"It's in fantastic and completely capable hands, and no one has anything to worry about or I would have adhered to the rule "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the people that are going to be shepherding and stewarding the franchise. These are people who have been with the franchise for years and years, and totally get it. There are no issues there."

It'll be interesting to see how AC goes on without another one of its creators, but May hasn't written any of the games since 2012 and as long as we get more writers like Darby McDevitt and not Travis Stout then I wouldn't worry.<ac_metadata title="Corey May has left Ubisoft"> </ac_metadata>
