How's that? As Sol Pacificus said "It's just a giant snake. Maybe it is a remnant of Isu genetic engineering experiments; entirely plausible." If we (humans) can do genetic engineering in modern day, why not the Isu in the civilizations?

Also, the reality of Egypt is different compared to the Third Crusade, the Renaissance, Victorian London, etc. It's a civilization with more religious stuff, the egyptian lived with it every day, so the myths and legends should come from somewhere. I think the giant snake is just fine.
