In most AC games there are side missions dealing with characters/events that are even further back than the main ancestor like Brutus in Brotherhood or Captain Kidd in III. I feel the Exodus/Moses will fill this part of the new game, but maybe a little more integral. As the OP's question about Jesus Christ, I don't think Ubi will ever definitively say what happened to him in their universe, too controversial. But in response to point 3 maybe using the Ankh in conjunction with a Shroud (like Apple and Staff) can prolong the resurrection time, but yes as far as we've been told, Jesus has only been in possession of the Shroud.
