I don’t believe the Templars got rid of Olivier. You said they got tired of him and that he was failing them.
However, if you read the email about the shareholders meeting Olivier talks about how much success they are having with the Edward Kenway project.
Also if you look at the Confidential Chat log Olivier wanted to be extremely productive in the search for the Observatory, to the point of over working the employees.
Another thing to consider is the fact that there was a blood vial being kept at Abstergo Entertainment.
Why would they keep a blood vial at Abstergo Entertainment if there weren’t Templars there or people they trusted with their secrets?
This is possible proof that the Templars trusted Olivier. Templars rarely, if ever, gave First Civ items to outsiders.

And, at the end of the meeting with Lemay and England, Lemay asked Olivier what they should do now and Olivier responded that they should follow England’s orders. Showing that Olivier follows orders. (And that Lemay doesn’t know what to do after just being told what to do.)
Olivier was committed to finding the Observatory, why would the Templars want to get rid of him?
If the Templars were going to get rid of anyone they should have gotten rid of Lemay. In the Confidential Chat Log Lemay talks about how she doesn’t want to overwork the employees, and she wanted to include the Observatory in the game. Olivier wanted to keep the Observatory confidential.
Olivier seemed to be very loyal to the Templars and willing to keep their secrets.
Lemay was only focused on making the video game and making profits.
Between Olivier and Lemay, Lemay was the one that was hindering the Templars’ search for the Observatory. (Which makes me wonder why they would let her join the Order.)
