It's entirely possible that by the events of Rogue, Melanie knew what happened to Olivier and simply elected not to tell the Helix Research Analyst - after all, they're just a low-level employee. Why tell them anything about Olivier? By that point, she must have had pretty high level access, and her joining the Templars seems to have brought out a cold side in her (or maybe it was always there?), seeing as she didn't flinch at Otso Berg threatening to kill the Analyst .
“Why tell them anything about Olivier?”
That’s exactly my point. She didn’t have to and yet she did.
From the way Lemay was talking to the analyst about Olivier, it seemed like the analyst didn’t work at Abstergo while Olivier was there. She even says she was bringing the analyst up to speed.
And since Lemay became cold or was cold, why does she miss Olivier. She is highly trusted evidently since she works with members of the Inner Sanctum. If the Templars were behind Olivier’s disappearance, she should realize it had to be done.
She seemed to be reminiscing.
I think she honestly doesn’t know what happened to Olivier.
AC Rouge is about grooming the analyst to join the Templars.
She describes Olivier as “kind, intelligent, and passionate about their work.”
I think it was a sob story hinting that the evil Assassins made a “kind, intelligent and passionate” man disappear because of what he was working on and how close to the Templars he was. So it was kind of a warning to the analyst that the Assassins would target them to for what they are learning.
