Ubisoft killed retooled it, turning it into a social game-esque thing. It gives you challenges like "kill 200 guards with a ranged weapon" and that's basically it. I think everybody who used Initiates prior to Unity's release wants it back, but I don't think it's happening to be honest.

Whoever was behind that creative decision deserves to be fired, in my opinion.
