As I explained in my last response on your talk page, in my perspective, this is an issue even when it doesn't reach the extreme extent of "War on Terror".

Even if we have the birth date and place of birth of Alexander the Great in his article, and that is the only outside information, that is an issue if it's uncited. Where did we take this from? A school textbook? A library book? We shouldn't be taking from Wikipedia, but if we did, then we did, and it should be cited.
