Actually that is true. His comment could've totally been referring to history not game lore itself. Certainly, I personally always thought that Cleopatra dying from being bitten by a snake was most likely a myth in reality, but one that should reflect true events in Assassin's Creed.
Reading his comments over, his later comment of "Yeah, from a scripturesic in villa buildsic more than 1000 years later. Maybe it is where the whole snake killed Cleo started" absolutely could've been written in jest, to tease players.
