It's possible that Aymar is just giving us a red herring. But I've raised the same points as you guys in other discussions. These descriptions weren't left purposefully ambiguous, they were quite detailed and definitive in how they went down, especially when you take into account how detailed Qulan Gal's was when it pointed out that Qulan did not literally kill Genghis Khan. I can get behind the reasoning that the correct history might have been lost over time, but it seems like an unnecessary retcon to me. There's no real reason this couldn't work, aside from maybe developmental issues which I'd also find a bit of a dubious excuse.
