I found another similarity between Berg and Shay.

They both have a predatory mindset.

In the Cairo Debrief audio log Berg says he sees himself as a predator.

Similarly, Shay sees himself as a hunter in one of the cinematic trailers.

Also, the hunters that give Shay hunting missions comment on how Shay looks like a predator.

I also have a theory on when Shay had children.

If my theory of the tree medal being a family heirloom handed down from generation to generation is correct, Shay could have had children between March 1760 and December 25, 1776.

This is based on the fact that Shay doesn’t have medal on his Versailles outfit. That could mean he handed it down to his child or children.

Also at the beginning of the first Paris memory Berg says:

“If he is the man I believe him to be, then he has... Keep going.”

This again shows that Berg didn’t know exactly who Shay was prior to the researcher looking into his memories.
