For me this is what AC needs:

It needs to go back to the past games and find out whats so special about them that the fans loved. Put that speciality into a whole new culture, a whole new setting, (Somewhere in Asia or other places except Europe and North America, not racist here, pls no hate) and a whole new set of characters without making the story cliche or repetitive. It has to have balance between the hstorical parts and the fiction parts with it having enough historic connection but at the same time focusing on a good story between Assassin and Templar ideology.

It needs to have more interaction with characters and the world, which I know is very hard. We love games because of our relationships with the world and characters.

It needs a good modern story gameplay with interactions too. The Crew on Altair II have been ignored since it always focuses on Abstergo hackers and industries. Ubisoft needs to go back to the type of gameplay in the modern story and make another "Desmond"

It needs a new first civilization viewpoint. We had enough of apples and sages, thank you very much. You can still connect those two in another better first civ entity/object.

It needs to be worked on, not crammed. You dont sell a game that hangs every thirty seconds.

I know Im asking for too much, but this is my opinion on what AC needs.
