I think we don't necessarily need trilogies again, but I don't see the harm in spending two games with the same character. The only problem would be that you'd need different settings, which doesn't always work for the same protagonist - was I the only one that felt Ezio was a little out of place in Constantinople? You'd need a good reason for your protagonist to suddenly change locations, without them suddenly taking over every activity in the new location.
