I don't have much to add to this other than that I've been losing interest since AC3, only to do find something worth holding onto narrative-wise with each new release. For me it's mostly the brand saturation that makes me unexcited for any new game. When talking about franchises, I'm much more excited to play a new installment in a game series that I haven't touched for ages than play yet another Assassin's Creed game when the last one is still so fresh in my mind. I haven't bought any special edition since AC3, and I don't intend to spend my money on such things anymore either. I'm still very much invested in the narrative of the series, but I'm much more excited for new comics, novels, short films than yet another game. I'll get each game every year, and I'm sure I'll enjoy each of them in their own way, but I'm not excited at all.
