Białowieża Forest

Białowieża Forest, also known by its Russian name Belovezhskaya Forest, is one of the last and largest remaining parts of the immense primeval forest that once stretched across the European Plain. It straddles the border of Poland and Belarus.

History[edit | edit source]

In December 1991, the Belavezha Accords, the decision to dissolve the Soviet Union, were signed at a meeting in the Belarusian part of the reserve by the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus.[1] The accords, however, were in actuality a Templar plot to overthrow the current leader Mikhail Gorbachev and install Boris Yeltsin as the first President of Russia.[2]
