Benjamin Pritchard
Benjamin Pritchard (died 1713) was a member of the Templar Order and the captain of the Amazon Galley merchant ship for the East India Company.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Emperor attack and death[edit | edit source]
In 1713, his ship was attacked by the Emperor, a privateer-turned-pirate ship under the command of Alexander Dolzell. After being tortured by Dolzell, Pritchard was put under the guard of Blaney and Edward Kenway,[1] during which the latter spotted Pritchard's Templar ring on his burned hands. With Kenway recognizing the symbol from an attack on his family in Bristol, Pritchard promised to reveal its true meaning and help him find the men who had set fire to his parents' house if Kenway helped him to escape.[2]
However, before Kenway could act on this, the Templar was impaled on Dolzell's sword when the privateer Edward Thatch came to the rescue of the Amazon Galley.[3]
Legacy[edit | edit source]
In 2015, the Templar Isabelle Ardant included Pritchard name on a list of known British Templars. This list was later unveiled by the Assassins Rebecca Crane and Shaun Hastings when they infiltrated Ardant's office to plant a bug.[4]
