Beer is an alcoholic beverage produced by the fermentation of cereal grains, most commonly wheat or barley. It is one of the oldest types of alcohol in the world, having been popular as far back as ancient Egypt.

Mead and ale have been popular kinds of beer in England since at least the 9th century. In 1868, the twin Assassins Evie and Jacob Frye gathered vintage beer bottles hidden throughout the city of London to later sell as antiquities.
