The Bamboo Grove was a bamboo forest situated in eastern Arashiyama in Yamashiro, Japan.

In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke arrived at the grove to find a stolen letter written by Ise Sadaoki to his brother Sadatame, which had been allegedly taken by an "oni". Discovering the thief to be a shinobi named Gennojo, they confronted him and were forced to fight him.[1]
Following his defeat, Gennojo gave Naoe and Yasuke the stolen letter and told them of his grudge against the Ise clan before leaving. With the letter in-hand, the pair went to give it to the messenger to translate, so they could learn Sadaoki's true intentions.[1]
