Altar of the Cyclops

The Altar of the Cyclops was a ruined building in the Isthmus of Poseidon in Korinthia, Greece. It could be found in the just north of the Sanctuary of Isthmia and east of the Grave of Sisyphos.

During the Peloponnesian War, the place had been claimed by bandits. The Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place, killed the leader, freed their captives, collected an ancient tablet, and claimed their treasures.[1] Shortly thereafter, Kassandra freed a man named Lykinos who had been held captive and carried him back to his home in Kechries.[2]
