At first glance, Assassin's Creed might not seem like the best choice for the inclusion of multiplayer. The Assassin's Creed franchise looks to continue to change the traditional online experience that was started with Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood with Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

Players will be moving progressively up a level hierarchy. As rankings increase, more and more elements of the story will be unlocked. Also unique is that a players will get fresh perspectives on the Assassins themselves. The activation of these story elements will be made optional.

Multiplayer is also being re-shaped in different ways. It is no longer beneficial to rush into situations. Less points will be earned for playing in this way and you will be openly attacked. By using stealthy tactics, you will be rewarded with more bonus points.

Customization is like in all multiplayer games, an important element. Ubisoft is working to make sure that there are plenty of things you can customize. The game will also have a "prestige" mode. Once you hit level 50, you will have the option to do these prestige loops. Ubisoft has mentioned that you will be able to do this up to 99 times.
