Shimagahara Valley was a forested valley situated within the Otogi Pass region of Iga Province, Japan.

In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke ventured through the valley after following a lead from Rokkaku Yoshikata about a group of his fallen students, the Godai Shinobi, wreaking havoc. Within the valley, they followed a trail of dead bodies and heard someone playing a flute.[1]
Soon, Naoe and Yasuke caught sight of Kazumi, the "Godai of Wind", playing her flute and confronted her. After killing her, they retrieved the tantō Iron Dispute from her personal effects.[1] While there, they also found and acquired the katana Masked Death from a chest.[2]
